Professional tax on stipend

Hello all,
I work as a company secretary management trainee in a steel manufacturing company,mumbai!
I get rs 8000 as a gross stipend amount every month, I just wanted to know that do I am liable to pay professional tax out of my stipend amount? m I liable to pay professional tax out of my stipend amount, but I am just a trainee out there!
every month my employer deducts some amount as a professional tax from my stipend.
what to do? pls help
