12 October 2013 We are a Private Limited Company in the business of Transportation.

We are registered in Maharashtra.

Whether our company is liable for payment of Professional Tax in Maharashtra?

We are unable to get our new vehicles registered with RTO. They are asking for Professional tax Payment Challans.

Our Taxable profit for FY 12-13 was Rs 25.28 Lakhs

12 October 2013 Yes, in maharashtra you must deposit professional tax, its very nominal, you may deposit now, if you havent done yet.

It is applicable only on Individual and not to company.

12 October 2013 so if the our company is having 10 directors, then does it mean that the PT @ 2500/- should be paid. the amount comes at Rs 25000.
whether company should pay or the directors are liable for payment?
if the amount is paid by the directors then the whether can it be construed that associated compliance is observed?
