12 May 2008 Can somebody plz guide me that how to deposit professional tax for employees of mumbai branch here in delhi? Which challan to be used, can cheque be deposited in bank for same?

12 May 2008 Form 5 is used for yearly deposut and Form 5-A is used for monthly deposit.

Yes cheques can be used for the same.

12 May 2008 Thanks Amit, but can u plz help that how to deposit it if the same was not deposited during financial yr, while assesse wishes to deposit whole amt in lumpsum now ie for April 07 to Mar' 08. Which form to use and where it can be deposited?

12 May 2008 Use form 5 , this form is used for annual deposit of Professional Tax, but if monthly is had not been deposited there will be an interest penalty @ 1.25% per month.

12 May 2008 Professional tax is a state subject which is to be dealt with Commercial Taxes Department of the State. If you want to pay professional tax in respect of employees in Delhi, you have to provide with CT department of Delhi State and Tax is to be remitted as per Delhi relevant sales tax Act but not Maharastra.
