05 March 2008 Professional tax depends on state you work. as in maharshtra. Max PT is 2500/- it all depends on salary. In india at punjab, haryana, J&K, himachal there is no PT. In gujarat, Karnatka, Maharshtra it is oayable. Rate and slab are diffrent for diffrent state
