22 January 2016 I am a practising chartered accountant and presently carrying on concurrent audit for a nationalised bank, i have been asked by my Branch Manager a certificate after checking the arithmatical accuracy of interest on an fd which matured roughly ten years back.. and the customer has turn up for interest on that overdue portion. What as a concurrent auditor i should write after cross checking the interest computed by Branch Manager...can anyone guide me on this...Thanks

22 January 2016 You can certify as arithmatical accuracy of interest calculation checked and found to be in order.

22 January 2016 It would be a good idea to ask the br manager to raise a request for such certificate in writing along with the procedure/software used to work out the interest amount. Based on such reqest one could certify.

22 January 2016 Yes, Mr. kishor i have asked my Br. Manager for a written request for obtaining that certificate.... 'what should be the content of that Certificate, that yes i have cross verified the arithmatical accuracy for so and so account no. and have found the same to be in order..will this suffice or should i write more, will you please guide me sir..Thank you
