Procedure for self removal of export containers

This query is : Resolved

10 May 2011 We are a manufacturer and exporter of Steel Tubes. Per month we are exporting around 1000 MT material. Now we are qualifying for the Export House certification.

We have a factory stuffing permission. Our containers will be sealed by Excise officials. For non-container shipment (LCL shipment) we deliver the goods with Self Removal Process.

I want to know is there any option like Self Removal Process for containerise shipment and what is the procedure and obligations of it.

Please help us in this regard.

14 May 2011 There is no bar to despatch the goods in container with self removal but the inspection would be done at customs port,

either at factory or at customs port, you have to select your suitable place of inspection.

16 May 2011 Thanks for your reply.

Will you please clarify the procedure and difference between port stuffing & factory stuffing of export containers.

We are checking the possibility of self removel of export containers because our factory is around 45 Kms.away from Excise Office. While container stuffing we have to sepnt lot of time and money. Sometimes container stuffing not done on the same day, hence container detention/buffer yard charges are applicable which is not feasible.

25 July 2011 Please confirm.
