A sole proprietorship firm is proposing to do the retail busines of stationeries - second sales in Chennai, Tamil Nadu.

Query

Is there any turnover limit available ?

Whether the registration for the business of 'Second Sales of Stationeries' shall be called as 'Dealer Registration'. Please clarify.

24 August 2010 1. There is some Turnover Limit Rs.5.00 Lac in Tamil Nadu for Registration

2. In VAT Regime, there is no concept of First Dealer/Second Sales concept, Tax is collectable at every point of sale. Under VAT Act, person who register under VAT called as Dealer.

3. There are some relevant application form prescribed in the rules for getting REgistration, Plz., approach any Chartered Accountant, or Sales Tax Practioner or any Advocate who is dealing with Registration part.
