Printing share certificate

This query is : Resolved

08 November 2011 Can I fill the share certificate i.e name of the holder, certificate no.,etc with my own hand written word or i have to print it mandatorily??? Is it written in the companies act,1956 that share certificate should be printed???

09 November 2011 Yes as per my understanding you may write in your own handwriting.
But as per practice I would advise you to go for printed share certificates for more authenticity.

Law is silent.

10 November 2011 Yes I agree with Mr. Richank Garg that Companies Act is silent in this regard. So, you can complete shares certificates with your own hand writing.
BUT REMEMBER ONE THING THAT THERE SHOULD BE NO CUTTING IN THE SHARE CERTIFICATE. AND IN PRACTICE BLACK PEN IS PREFERRED INSTEAD OF BLUE INK PEN.
