03 February 2009 Actually i want to expertise in the Service tax filed in my Chartered Accountancy practice.

What i had to do to gain such knowledge.
i mean please suggest books to be refered.

03 February 2009 Service tax has gained much momentum. NOw there are around 106 services and yourself should expertise in all the 106 services. Please read the act, notifications and circulars thouroughly and case law digest. Further you should expertise yourself in import of services and export of services. Because there is no clarity for the assessess which is import of services and if they are not paying service tax properly they will land in trouble. Similarly there are exemptions for direct and indirect exports. Most of the assessees lack knowledge in these area how to get refund, if yourself could guide them properly you will get more clients. Infact the service tax will lead income tax in future. All the best and you should succed in you profession. Taxman service digest of cases will help you a lot.
