21 January 2012 i dont hve good exposure during articleship
so i find direct tax very difficult how to cope with this problem my attempt is in may 2012.

22 January 2012 It is clear that you could learn more, and that is/will be going to be fruitful to you for your exam.

The precondition for learning is interest.

One has to develop his own interest. Direct Tax is difficult, but it is interesting also.
.
A simple technique-
Assume your self as the tax payer capable of changing your status,
having profits/losses from various sources.
.
Think that the provisions have been made for you.
.
Take burden of Tax incidences
and feel relieved by the deductions, exemptions and incentives.
.
You will enjoy DT by visualising the impacts of IT provisions on your various business entities and employments.

22 January 2012 really thnx sir i am vry depressed for dt marks.will tell u my study. i got only 28 in dt vry poor..........

done 1. assessment procedure
2 pgbp
3 cap gain deduction and tds
not done 1. assessment of various entities
2 80c
3 small topics
4 latest case law
5 have not given 1st group.
i attempted paper of 75 marks only
wat might be my problem or is it not doing good articleship.in articleship hve done bank audit msetcl audit 2 co audit filed 5 to 6 returns done accounting and tax audit
and filled vat return only.do u wnt to advice me to do good articleship or job and than give attempt.thnx in advance
or i can overcome my problem by self study besides that i am good at theory subjects.

22 January 2012 Practicals are based on theories.

Now , there is no need to think for job/articleship.
.
You can do better by self study only. What ever you have done in articleship can be thought as sufficient. Now you have to think that these are the two different facets of the same coin. Without studying in depth no one can pass at this stage. Practical experience is helpful but for complete command our the subject thorough
study is required.

Complete the syllabus. Options of "not done" will always tease you. Its recommended that the syllabus made for us has to be studied thoroughly. After doing that much only, passing probability of 0.6 is acquired.
