Employess State Insurance corporation is a central government body which has been formed mainly for the pupose of worker's benefit.
APPLICABILITY OF THE ESI ACT
The ESI Act, (1948) applies to the following categories of factories and establishments in the implemented areas:-
* Non-seasonal factories using power and employing ten(10) or more persons * Non-seasonal and non power using factories and establishments employing twenty (20) or more persons.
Employee/Worker cont: 1.75% of wages
Employer cont: 4.75% of wages
Employee/worker receiving a basic salary/wages upto Rs 15000/- is required to contribute in this fund.
