If a chartered accountant wants to do phd in economics/public administaration,what are the top universities imparting phd in india for the same.

Please suggest me some.

02 September 2010 first u have to check, how many university allow CA with graduation to pursue PHd as normally eligibility for PHd is Post graduation with 55 % marks. so u need to pass CA with 55 % marks. if u have P.G degree with 55 % then u can get admission on basis of ur performance in entrance test.
if have dont have P.G/CA degree with 55% marks then u may enroll for M.Com at ignou and as per MOU of ICAI & Ignou, its duration will be 1 year for CA and u have to clear just 4 papers.
there are many private/deemed university too providing PHD degree, but it would be better for u, if u do if from a government universities or IGNOU.
