Place to be written in audit report

25 September 2012 Hi friends i am practicing in my individual name and my registered address as per institute is in Thane Distt. but my client is situated in andheri,mumbai.

I want to know that in tax audit report what should i write as place in audit report thane or mumbai,and in my address i think it should come thane only because we have to write address also in tax audit report.3

Kindly explain me why i should write mumbai or thane.

Please reply ASAP.

25 September 2012 The place purports to be the place where you are signing the report. It is an additional SECURITY feature added in the good olden days. It denotes; in addition to signature, the date on which the document is signed by the signatory and the place where he/she has signed the said document.The question of registered address is pertinent to your LETTER HEAD. You can carry your letter head to other part of the GLOBE as well.

25 September 2012 it means i can write mumbai,and after if any query then i can explain that i can carry my letter head also so i had signed in Mumbai.

But let me know if there is anything in act about place of audit report.

and also want to know about place in balance sheet and Profit & loss of that client.

25 September 2012 ..... books of accounts kept at...... is the tax audit format WORDING. AUDITOR has to decide whether he/she wants the record in his office, or where the books of accounts are kept... or as in the case of CBS banks, a separate auditor's login is provided. It is upto you to strike the proper balance as to the place of audit. One may conduct the audit at say KANIYA KUMARI, come back home at say GUWAHATI and then prepare the report..... so place of audit will be KANIYA KUMARI and plce of signature will be GUWAHATI.
