16 September 2009 Are the new ammendments made in respect of TDS and Gift Tax in Kind to be applied in Nov09 exam. Do we have to write the answers as per the new ammendments or as per the ammendments that were applicable for the May09 exams since the ammendments are applicable wef 1st October 2009. Plz reply to this query as soon as possible

16 September 2009 As the most of the provisions as given in this budget are applicable from 1st October, these shall not be applicable to your attempt. All the amendments which is applicable exactly from six months before, are applicable. So only amendments applicable upto 30th April shall be applicable to you.
