Payment of tds in term of due date

09 July 2013 Dear All ,

We have received TDS Notice for Interest on Late payment from Traces in respect of clearance of payment of tds amount after 7th of particular,however we have submitted the same cheque before of due date on 05 of concern month .

So please guide us in regards What is Due date for tds Payment ???

(A)Date Of Submission Of Payment Through Out Cheque in bank .
Or
(B) Date Of Clearance Of Cheque through bank process.

09 July 2013 The date mentioned in the challan is the final date. Incase you have the bank counterfoil for submission of the challan with cheque on 5th, then you can reply with that you have submitted the payment on or before due date provided that particular date sufficient balance in your account to clear the TDS challans

09 July 2013 Due Date for payment of TDS is 7th of the next month.

and Yes, I agree with expert that Date mentioned on Challan is considered as Payment Date.

09 July 2013 Banker can make the payment once the cheque has cleared, so clearing date only
