SIR,
I HAVE FILED MY INCOME TAX FOR THE FIRST TIME IN ASSMT YEAR 2010-11. BUT ACCIDENTLY I HAVE PAID MY TAX WHICH WAS REMITTED THROUGH NET BANKING, THE ASSESSMENT YEAR SELECTED WAS 2009-10. CAN I HAVE TO RECTIFY THE MISTAKE HAPPENED

You may write an application to the jurisdictional assessing officer clarifying the position and requst him to consider the tax so paid for the AY 2010-11.
