Pause in articleship on the 2nd year

Dear Sir, i am in my 2nd year of articleship and wanted to take a break from articleship for a period of 3-4 months due to some personal issues. I wanted to know the rules regarding pause of articleship?. Do i have to serve the whole period of articleship again if i take a pause? And what are the alternatives?

No you can take transfer now and re-register after 4months no issue,but after one year icai permission mandatory to take transfer.so send a letter to icai seeking permission for transfer along with your boss recommendation/no objection for transfer agreeing to your reason.
no need to do total articleship again u just need to do balance period of articleship in 3 years,
another alternative is explain your problems with your current boss and take leave
