Part time Job with full time CoP

This query is : Resolved

Quick Summary
A Chartered Accountant, also pursuing CFA qualifications, is considering a part-time fund accounting role with US working hours. They are concerned about this impacting their full-time practice and whether they need to end their practice or obtain a Part-time Certificate of Practice (CoP). The general advice is to seek permission from the ICAI, as engaging in other occupations alongside practice typically requires their approval. While directorships are commonly granted, the chances for other roles depend on the specific circumstances, and it's advised to try seeking permission regardless.

12 June 2025 To pursue a part-time job while practicing as a Chartered Accountant (CA), you'll need to obtain specific permission from the ICAI. This is because engaging in any other business or occupation alongside practice, as defined by the ICAI, requires permission.
Seek permission from the Institute you will get it.
