Part time cop for a partnership firm

This query is : Resolved

13 June 2019 Dear Sir,

My sister has completed her CA in 2018 and have got a part time cop number. Now she wants to become a partner in a partnership firm but while registering for firm name approval she is getting an error message that Part time cop not allowed to apply for firm name. Please obtain full time cop.

As per I know, a part time cop number can be used to form a firm. She won't be allowed to do any signing work. But entering into a partnership firm must be allowed.

Please help me resolve this issue.

Regards,
Divyesh Jain

13 June 2019 She can only join in an existing firm not allowed to create a new firm.

13 June 2019 Ok.. If we create a new firm with two ca's having full time cop number and once the new firm is created remove one of the ca and my sister comes in place of the resigned ca. Though my sister will continue having part time cop number.

13 June 2019 To join in any firm as partner, candidate should get his FULL TIME COP for signing as a partner.. Unless she gets registered with Full time COP she cannot join.. she has to convert part time into full time

13 June 2019 Dear Shankar Sir,

She will not be signing any documents. She will be a partner in the firm once new firm is created by full time chartered accountants. Then only one full time cop and part time cop will continue the firm as one partner will resign.

13 June 2019 In my opinion, even though she signs or not, she has not register for Full time COP to become a partner in any firm (even after resignation of other partner).

13 June 2019 Ok.. Thanks a lot Seetharaman sir and Shankar sir for your opinion.
