Pan card not received for more thane one year

10 July 2012 I have applied PAN for One of Korean Staff (on 08/08/2011) whose Surname is two character which is considered as INITIAL / SPECIAL CHARACTER in income tax data base, which is why his PAN is pending for more than One Year.

Now he has to apply for VISA extension but authority is not allowing him for extension with out PAN and he gets only two months to get his PAN.

Kindly suggest how do i get PAN for him.

10 July 2012 Please contact the Aaykar Sampark Kendra (ASK) at 0124-2438000 (or 95124-2438000 from NCR) or send an email to pan@incometaxindia.gov.in.

10 July 2012 It takes about 15 days to get a new PAN allotted. However, PAN can be obtained in around 5 days if application is made through Internet and processing fee paid through credit card. It is advisable to initiate action for obtaining PAN will in time.

Thank you for your reply.

We have contact various authorities like Karvy (processor of PAN), NSDL, Pune (040-23388765).

But they are saying that his Surname is special Character ("UM") and it is not reflating in IT Database and hence it has to add in data of IT, which they have requested Delhi (IT) where all such procedure are done but it is still pending.

I have taken extract from PAN status link also spoken to NSDL also. Please note the following remarks.

"Your application is under process at TIN Facilitation Center (TIN FC) where you have made the application. While processing your application, following discrepancy(ies) has/have been noticed. Kindly contact the TIN FC 040 - 23388765 for details:

Applicant's first name/middle name/last name contain initials/special characters."
