My friend has a properietor ship busines.
He has PAN in his own name.
can he obtain new PAN for his properietor ship concern?
he need PAN in his busines name because he have to coat this when he submit application for any auction.
Experts please guide me.

Hi Jayesh,
We cannot apply for PAN for a sole proprietorship concern.
If it had been a partnership firm, you may apply for a PAN,
As in a sole proprietorship concern, the return is filed by the proprietor himself in his own capacity hence PAN of firm not required.
Further, you may give your firm name with the PAN.

PAN can be allotted to 'Person' only. Propietorship firm is not person in I.T. Act.
