Sir,A painter who sells his paintings through public exhibitions should be treated as a businessman or professional for tax audit purpose??

You Mean to Say you are artist ,So artist defintely comes under Professional not Businessman

Yes I mean to say the same.I wanted to further know that whether sale of paintings attracts VAT,if yes then I feel an artist painter should be a businessman.Correct?
