Options for Freshly Qualified CA's

21 July 2016 Hello, I am a newly qualified Chartered Accountant and is thinking about opportunities in various fields available for us to choose as a career. I want to know the long term pros and cons of every field so that one can choose wisely. kindly enlighten me with the opportunities available in various sectors and which one would be beneficial if a person wants to practice in long term.

21 July 2016 Sir opportunities wise there are abundant areas where you can explore but at the end of the day, it should be into a stream of your liking and interest. Some people initially embrace some areas unwillingly and later start enjoying them, similarly there would occasions when a person treads into a line of his or her interest and then ends up cursing for having made an incorrect decision. In hindsight everything looks good or bad as to where your positioned at that point of time in life.

The various opportunities one cam contemplate at this point in time is on - IFRS - Ind AS, GST, Company Law matters, FEMA, IPR, Litigation practice in any area, Big Data - Digital India, Forensic and Fraud Detection etc. The list simply keeps expanding, it is for you to take a call as to where you want to see yourself five to ten years down the line.
