Online Return filing

30 March 2009 I have filed my income tax for FY 06-07 returns online successfully, but I have not filed acknowledge copy physically.

Is this return is valid? If I want to file physically then will department accept the return?

Please advise.

30 March 2009 if you have filed signing the return digitally, then the return is valid. But if you filed without signing it digitally, then you should have had submitted within 15 days of filing the e-return. But still go and submit the provisional acknowledgement.

30 March 2009 If ITR V is filed with IT department with in 15 days of electronic filing, the date of electronic filing will be treated as the date of filing of the return.
If ITR V is submitted in the IT office after 15 days,the date on which it is submitted in the IT office shall be deemed to be the date of filing of the IT return.

Source:- Para 3(2) and 3(3) of Electronic Furnishing Of Return of Income Scheme,2007 vide notification 210 dated 27/7/2007.
