My client wants IT Clearance Certificate from IT dept for applying Tender in Pvt Co.
Whether we can obtain if yes under which section of IT act
According to me Such Clearance certificate cannot be obtained as the section is deleted

The procedure of 'tax clearance certificate' was governed under section 230A of the Income tax Act,1961 which has been omitted , as u rightly understood,from the statute w.e.f 1/6/2001

As per F NO.153/191/2002-TPL, requirement of IT Clearance Certificate was waived while filing a tender for the purpose of obtaining commercial contracts. As no IT Clearance Certificate are being issued by IT Department, you can take advantage of this circular for non submission of IT Clearance Certificate with Tender.
