NRI as second account holder of resident account

09 January 2025 Can NRI be the second account holder of a joint resident savings account where the primary account holder is a resident? If so, are there any limits on the number of such accounts?

09 January 2025 Yes, a non-resident Indian (NRI) can be a second account holder in India, but only with a close relative who is a resident Indian.

09 January 2025 Thank you. Can you confirm that this can be done in multiple accounts with different banks and the account can continue to remain as a regular (resident) account?
