I have received a notice u/s 271(1)(c)
What is actually it was ……

I have deposited the tds on salary deducted late i.e. after filling of my Income Tax Return

Whether the penalty for the same will be levy or not

If levy the how it can be cleared ..plz guide

02 April 2013 all taxes due on the return shud be deposited before filing of return
your query is not ggiving the facts properly hence it is difficult to opine on whether penalty may be levied.

21 May 2013 It might be possible that you have not submitted your return. Till return is submitted your income is concealed u/s 271(1)(c). Kindly check up the assessing officer the reasons for giving you 271(1)(c).

Generally this notice is given when assessment is completed u/s 143(3) and if additions are made in the returned income otherwise notice u/s 148 is to be issued.

You have not given the proper facts so it will be misleading if commented otherwise.
