I have filed my income tax return for A.Y. 2008-09 on 29th September, 2008. Now i have received a notice u/s. 143(2) for A.Y. 2008-09 dated 16th July, 2010.
Whether it is a valid notice?? Should i provide the details demanded by the A.O. or i should contend that this is a time barred notice and not to provide details.

Original notice must have been received in the september 2009 itself. If notice was received in September last year and now notice for details is being asked then it is a valid notice.
If this is the first notice then it is not a valid notice as the same is time barred.
