SIR, ONE OF MY CLIENT RECEIVED A DEMAND NOTICE FOR TAX, HIS CASE IS IN APPEAL, BUT HE IS NOT IN POSITION TO PAY THE TAX AMOUNT, WHAT IS THE REMEDY FOR THIS.

If your case is in appeal , you must have applied for stay of demand order u/s 220(6).

Another alternative is, stay can be moved before the CIT (APPEALS), if appeal is pending before him/her, since the powers of CIT (APPEALS) are co-terminus with that of the ITO.

Agreed with both the experts, if first step does nor work, apply for stay with CIT(A).
