Non filing of income tax returns

24 July 2013 sir, i have received a letter from I T Department for not filing of Income tax Returns AY 10-11 and asked to file the same. As due date lapsed u/s139/4 can i file returns based on letter from income tax department or what is the solution for this case.

24 July 2013 Yours is a case of 142(1).So anyhow I.T. return has to be filed.Non compliance may lead to 144(best judgement) and penalty as well.
