Noc not obtain from ca

03 November 2012 If NOC not obtain from past CA then shall i do tax audit of client...is it necessary to obtain? if for any unavoidable reason not get from earlier CA then Current CA is liable for misconduct?

03 November 2012 01. please spell the UNAVOIDABLE reason so that a correct answer can be given.
02. It is necessary to communicate with the previous auditor. (Obtaining NOC is always construed as a PROOF that you have communicated.) The crux is communication with the previous auditor. Try to explore the underlying meaning in this.
