16 December 2016 My friend has opened a restaurant two months ago. Whether he is required vat or service tax registration or he is required to registered under gst. Plz help. And what other formalities are required for a restaurant

25 December 2016 Yes, The restaurant is required to be registered under VAT, service tax if value of service is going to be more than 9 lakh in this FY. He is also required to be enrolled in GST. apart from this please check for PT, ESI, PF, minimum wages, shops and establishments, Factories act, boilers etc. For In come tax PAN and TAN registration also required
