is documentary evidence necessary for a employer to allow deduction to his employees for tds calculation?

It is the obligation of the employer to have the documentary evidence from the employee before considering the exemption and deduction that are eligible under income tax act. Also, it is the duty of the employee to produce such documentary evidence for such claims.
