09 July 2012 I have a query

After filling SAHAJ xls form it is showing; i need to pay Rs.1 (Rupees ONE only).

Whether i need to pay this Rs.1? Is it mandatory since it is just Rs.1?

Pls advise.

09 July 2012 You do not need to pay. Adjust the income so that the tax liability comes to NIL.

22 July 2012 Since you have filed the return form as stated by you then it becomes your liability. You may change or adjust your income but the department shall not do it now. So better you pay it or let this be adjusted from your next assessment year where you should pay Re. 1/- extra and the same shall show refundable can be adjusted by the department themselves.
