My Clinet was one of the Partner in a Firm, he applied UDYAM for the firm with his aadhar as Managing Partner Previously. Now My Client Started New Business as propreitor and now he want to apply a UDYAM for the Propreitor Firm.
But While applying it showed that aadhar no was linked to another business UDYAM. We have cancelled the Old MSME and now we are not able to apply New MSME with his aadhar.

This is a common issue on the Udyam Registration portal where the Aadhaar number is already linked to a previous Udyam (even if cancelled), causing a block for new registration.
How to resolve: Confirm Cancellation Status:
Check if the cancellation request of the partnership’s Udyam is fully processed and reflected on the portal.
Sometimes, cancellation takes time to reflect, and until then, Aadhaar stays linked.
Wait for Portal Update:
The portal needs some time (could be a few days to weeks) after cancellation to unlink Aadhaar.
Check portal again after some days.
Use Different Aadhaar:
If the client has a family member or nominee Aadhaar, you may register the proprietorship in that Aadhaar (though not ideal).
Contact Udyam Helpdesk:
Raise a grievance on the official Udyam portal grievance section https://udyamregistration.gov.in/
Or call the helpdesk at ______ to get Aadhaar unlinking done manually.
Email Support:
Send an email to udyam@msme.gov.in explaining the issue with proof of cancellation.
Note:
One Aadhaar can be linked to only one Udyam registration at a time.
If it’s still linked to the cancelled partnership, system won't allow new registration until fully unlinked.
Summary: The key is to ensure the old Udyam cancellation is fully processed and Aadhaar unlinked from the old entity before applying for new Udyam for proprietorship.
