Mistake in ITR 4

14 July 2011 I have filed an ITR 4 and by mistake I have entered a figure in the wrong place. Now I have received an intimation under sec 143(1) to pay more tax. This is for AY 2010-11.

How should I proceed? There is no requirement for me to pay tax as my calculations are all right.

I feel bad that such a mistake was made by me.

Should I respond to thet letter and also file a revised return immediately. Please help

15 July 2011 PLease reply to intimation annexing the exact calculation of Tax and stating reason for mistake as clerical.

15 July 2011 Take the same ITR and correct the mistake. Get the print out of the ITR and along with rectification petition u/s 154 send it to the CPC for rectification of the order. You can do the rectification through online but it is very difficult to upload the same. So send the hard copy and get the mistake rectified.
