Mismatch in income between form16b and 26as

28 June 2016 Dear Sir,
There is a mismatch in my income shown in Form16B which i received from my employer and 26AS. Gross Salary in Form 16 is less than the amount paid/credited as shown in 26AS. There is difference of 11584.
Though there is no mismatch in TDS between Form16 and 26AS.
I have already filed my ITR-1 for AY 2016-17 and during filing i have changed the prefilled amount of column "Income under Salary" under section Sch TDS1 and made it equal to the amount shown in my Form16.
What should i do now? Should i file a revised return without editing the prefilled amount of "income under salary" under section Sch TDS1 ?
please assist.

28 June 2016 since you have returned the ACTUAL income (which according to you is MORE than gross salary as per form 16), i think you have done a right thing.....you have returned the ACTUAL, isnt it? Then why are you bothered to REVISE?

28 June 2016 Sir, thanks for the reply. To clarify a bit more , during e-filing of my original ITR-1, i have removed the amount "X" from "income under salary: under Sch TDS1" and instead added amount "Y". Amount "X" is shown as income in my form 26AS and amount "Y" is shown as gross-salary under form16. My concern is since i have edited the amount "X" which is visible/available withIT Deptt (since its a part of 26AS), will it be an issue ?

Kindly assist.

28 June 2016 YForget Y and X.....you return the "TRUE and FAIR" income....that is all.....Please note one simple thing....form 26AS, Form 16 and whatever.....You are the one who has ACTUALLY received the salary in lieu of your hard work.
So put that figure which is true and fair....Dont give excessive weightage to either 26AS or Form 16
