05 September 2010 Hi ,

Can a minor be appointed as a director in Pvt Ltd. companies.?Whether he is eligible to get DIN ? give me with related provisions fr my reference....

05 September 2010 Now with DIN, minor may not be able to become a Director.

Minor cannot be a director in private Limited Company or any other Company. When any person is appointed as director not only Companies Act but other Laws and Act also must be considered.

When a minor himself cannot make a contract, the directorship of minor is of no use where he has to perform certain work personally.

05 September 2010 Further in case of a minor there is no provision in the Act expressly disqualifying him.

However, since a minor is not competent to contract, he cannot file with the Company or with the Registrar any valid consent to act as Director, as required u/s 264.

05 September 2010 dear Ankur, i have gone through most replies given by u and in my opinion all are satisfactory. i advise not to . write wait for other comments. it shows that u have not confident of ur reply. u should reply with confidence as these are most satisfactory. if someone finds some deficiency he will rectify at his own. it is only my advice to u. rest as u wish.
