although I do not want refund directly to my bank a/c but TTI section of itr4 return ask me MICR code without provide MICR code of the bank I can not prepare XML file what i shall do? if I provide MICR CODE can I shall receive my refund by cheque? please give me advice.thanks.

10 August 2012 If you do not want refund directly in your Bank account then you are not required to mention MICR code in ITR.
It will get processed. You might have made mistake somewhere else.

11 August 2012 Malay if you using Income Tax deppt Utility for filling the return you must have to provide MICR code because this code is compulsory for electronic clearance system of cheque.

u have to provide it even if you want refund by cheque.

11 August 2012 Hi malay,

Mr. Naresh said correctly, eventhough you like the refund, you must enter the micr code in the itr-4 excel utility. It is a mandatory one.
