Merging two pancards

23 July 2014 I had one pancard and was using it to file IT returns for some time. Once I lost my card and hence asked my friend to get me new PANcard. He got my documents done and I received a new PAN with different DOB which I am using currently for all my financials. This is why I am stuck on how can I merge this PAN with my OLD pancard which has got different DOB. All my current investments and IT returns are filled under current PAN which has got wrong DOB!

23 July 2014 You have to surrender the one PAN. My suggestion surrender the OLD one. After that apply for correction of DOB on new one.

23 July 2014 Alternatively, apply the correction of New one. While applying there is option to surrender other PAN allot to you. So surrender the old one....

23 July 2014 Holding of 2 PAN numbers is illegal so surrender the old one. And fill up the correction form for change in DOB foe the second PAN.
