Members limit for private limited cmpany

10 January 2014 sir,

in case of private company the maximum limit was 50 (under companies act 1956) and now under new act is 200(under companies act 2013).

the query is :
1. the limit of 200 members is applicable only for newly formed companies under new act or is it applicable for earlier incorporated companies also under 1956 act??

It will apply to all the private companies whether incorporate under the previous act or 2013 act.

10 January 2014 does the company require to amend its articles according to new provisions of new act????

11 January 2014 it would be appropriate to make required changes..however wait till all the relevant rules are issued by MCA...things are still hazy...not all sections have been notified...rules are still in draft mode...so wait and watch unless you are in hurry of getting more members...
