what is meaning of "financial assets"as used with respect to NBFC?

Does "financial asstes" include shares of private or public companies listed or unlisted securities in meaning of Financial assets?
Do needful.

06 November 2014 The term has been picked up from what is envisaged in Financial Lease and Operational Lease, although there is no connection as such as to why it is called so. In the books of NBFC, those are regarded as Financial Assets.
