I NEED UR HELP EXPERT, PLZ SIR
IF I REC. HRA AND BUT I HAVE SELF HOUSE THAN WILL THIS HRA LESS FROM MY INCOME

19 May 2011 its a part of your gross salary and also hra is decided on your scale also,

if you have your own house near to your office or location then you can't claim HRA u/s 10 13A but its not means that you have to less hra from your gross salary

company provides accomodation to manager in that branch area and also that manager received hra too.
do that manager have to less hra from gross salary ?

19 May 2011 MEANS SIR SUPOOSE MY SALARY IS 1.85 LAKH AND AFTER DEDUCTED HRA (15000) 1.70 LAKH THAN IT WILL RIGHT OR WRONG

19 May 2011 If you have not paid rent for your accommodation, HRA received is taxable.

dear rajiv,
Rs. 1.85 is right,

gross salary - exemption u/s 10 - all eligible dedection = net salary on which tax should be calculated. if your net salary is rs. 1.85 then you have to calculate tax on it.
