MATERIAL SOLD IN THE Fy 20-21 NOW CAN I RISE THE CREDIT NOTE WITH GST.

This query is : Resolved

Quick Summary
A business sold materials worth £200,000 in March 2021 and received a return in May 2021 but failed to issue a credit note. The customer is now requesting it, and the deadline for GST adjustments was September 30, 2021. The consensus is that a credit note cannot be raised now, and the suggested alternative is for the customer to issue a sales invoice with GST.

16 May 2022 Actually, we sold 2 Lacs worth of material to our customer on 30.03.2021, they have returned the material on 02.05.2021, But we have forgotten to raise the credit note. Now our customer is asking for the credit note to finalize their account. Shall we raise a credit note with GST, Because the last cut-off date is 30.09.2021?? if not possible is there any other way

16 May 2022 Ask the customer to raise sale invoice with GST.

16 May 2022 No, you cannot raise a credit note now.

16 May 2022 Thank you Seetharaman and Pooja
