17 February 2012 Hi, my daughter got married recently. What all exactly I need to do to transfer her income tax file to her in-laws in terms of changing her name, etc. Any other rules applicable will also be helpful

18 February 2012 You have to apply to the concerned ITO and commissioner for transferring the case to the new jurisdictional ITO if your daughter's residence is not in the same locality or not under the jurisdiction of the present AO.

Also get changed the name in her PAN card, by filing PAN Data Correction form , along with her marriage certi./ Marriage Card/ and new address proof.
