If making of wheat glour from wheat is a manufacturing process, then why stirring of cream to obtain butter isn't a manufacturing process??
Also, painting of goods is not a manufacturing process. But what if someone paints a sign board on a piece of iron sheet, wouldn't it be regarded as manufacturing as per test used by Supreme Court?

sir excise duty applicable according to excise act if under act any process is not the mfg. then no excise duty will applicable. otherwise you have to pay the excise. some time excise duty exemption basis on the process of goods, or specified in any judgement by the supreme court also.
