Manually printing of service tax number on invoice

11 November 2016 HI Team,

Yesterday I got invoice from packers and movers with stamping manually service tax number on invoice. I Have validated service tax number and matching with vendors name.

Please assist on above information.

13 November 2016 Invoice should contain fillwing information as per rule 4A(1),
The invoice/challan/Bill should be(a) signed by authorized person of provider of input services
(b) Should be serially numbered and
(c) Should contain following details –
1. Name, address and registration number of person providing taxable services
2. Name and address of person receiving taxable service
3. Description and value of taxable service provided or agreed to be provided and
4. Service tax payable on the taxable service
The service tax collected must be shown separately in Invoice/Bill raised by the person providing services.
If service tax number mentioned manually by way of stamping, it is fine, we can accept the invoice, however the invoice serial number should be pre-printed

14 November 2016 Thanks for the information, This is really helpful information. on my received bill I can see company Name and service tax register address matching with invoice company name.

Service change is separately mentioned on bill
also company name stamp embossed with signature,
Just have query on registration number - You mean company registration number do we required on invoice or any other are you referring?

15 November 2016 i mean to say that Service tax registration number is required to be mentioned on the invoice. which is there on invoice, hence that invoice is valid.
