11 December 2009 One Assessee has applied for Refund in I.T. Department for Asstt. Year 2008-09. But, it has been credited in his acoount less than the amount actually claimed in Return and also no interest on such refund is provided. Why it is so?

11 December 2009 Just write to the concerned Assessing officer..regarding this shortfall...if you are eligible..then you will get interert as per 244A

12 December 2009 Please refer to the refund order issued by the department. The AO might have made some additions in the income any may also have credited the interest. But the details will be confirmed only on the refund order.
