Legal validity of E-mails etc.

11 November 2009 E-mails have now proved as very cost-effective and efficient means of communication especially in the corporate world. Are E-mails and other electronically/ computer generated communications recognized as valid piece of evidence in a Court of law? If so, please cite Section number (with case law, if any) of the relevant Legislation/ Act which recognizes E-mails as well as other electronically generated documents as legally valid evidences.

11 November 2009 Other electronically generated documents like form no 16 digitally signed and other e payment receipts are leagally vali.

But till to date there is no legislatation which provides the legal validity of Emails.
