Leave for ca final

As we all know that minimum leave prescribed by ICAI for preparation of CA Final is 3 months(strictly). There are some firms that strictly stick to these rules and do not allow leave more than 3 months. Please tell me whether the prescribed leave is sufficient for taking care of both groups. And if not how should it be convinced to the employer if one is not able to attend classes & focus on studies during the articleship period.

In my opinion with out any coaching and study during articleship time it is risky to take both groups
